On the eve of Gandhi Jayanti on October 2, President Ram Nath Kovind in his message to the kingdom stated, "On the event of 151st anniversary of our Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, I pay homage to him on behalf of our grateful country." President Kovind said, "...Gandhiji is remembered now not only in India however all around the global. He stays a supply of inspiration for all humanity. His life-story empowers and strengthens the weaker sections of the society".
"Let us clear up to rededicate ourselves to the welfare and development of the nation, to observe the mantra of reality and non-violence...And make Gandhiji's goals come authentic," the President said.
Mahatma Gandhi's "message of fact, non-violence and love paves the manner for the welfare of the world by way of bringing about concord and equality in the society...," the President said, adding that Mahatma Gandhi's "values have been relevant the previous day as are these days and could remain within the destiny".
President Kovind praised the authorities's programmes and said, Gandhiji's beliefs are behind the "Swachh Bharat Mission, empowerment of girls, empowering the bad and downtrodden, supporting farmers and offering vital facilities in villages".
